Who we are....

Maria Mossop,

BSc (Hons), Pg Cert, CCAB

Maria has over 10 years experience working with dogs in different settings such as at rescue centres, as a puppy class instructor and more recently as a behaviourist for a national dog welfare charity. As well as extensive experience she also has academic knowledge to back her up, her degree and post graduate certificate have been in animal behaviour and companion animal behaviour and 2 years ago she became certified as a clinical animal behaviourist (CCAB for short) which means she has proven her knowledge and experience are of the highest standard. As well as that she follows the CCAB code of conduct and continues to develop herself professionally year on year. For owners this also means that Pet insurance companies will likely cover the cost of a consultation with Maria.

Having worked with a wide range for people and dogs from different backgrounds and with different challenges (and from working with her own challenging dogs), Maria really understands how difficult it can be living and working with a dog with behavioural challenges. That is why the consultations with her are a completely non-judgement place to allow you to explore your dog's behaviour, your feelings and emotion and to find the best way forward, together.

Maria shares her home with her elderly rescue lurcher, Hector, who enjoys a quiet life now but who used to get out on lots adventures when he was younger.

Zoe Shaw

Zoe is a multi course graduate of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers, a Diamond Member of the Grisha Stewart Academy, a certified Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy instructor, and an Introductory Tracking instructor. She also runs The Happy Dog Co., offering training and behaviour support with a focus on confidence building and shared joy between dogs and their families.

With extensive experience working with anxious and reactive dogs, Zoe understands how challenging it can feel when a dog is struggling. Her sessions offer a calm, supportive environment where owners can talk openly about their dog’s behaviour, their own experience, and the practical steps that will help them move forward. She has a particular interest in confidence building through scent work and breed specific enrichment, giving dogs safe, meaningful ways to learn, have fun, and grow. Her approach is collaborative, adaptable, and designed to meet the needs of both dogs and their humans.

At home, Zoe shares her life with two cocker spaniels, a Labrador, a lurcher, and two Maine Coons. Living with such a colourful mix of personalities continues to shape her empathy, her understanding, and her commitment to helping others feel supported on their training journey.
